Product Description

This model, the 8440-1432 unit, is classified as one of the Woodward SPM-D10/N series of one breaker synchronizer modules. These units were originally designed and developed by the oldest manufacturing company in the world, Woodward Inc. The 8440-1432 and rest of the SPM-D10/N category of products are designed as microprocessor-based synchronizer modules, built for installation into industrial, three-phase AC generator systems. These units are able to provide generator operators with several automatic parameter matching, such as the frequency, phasing, and the voltage of the unit. The 8440-1432 unit is able to achieve this by the discrete output bias signals. The 8440-1432’s standard features include the option for phase matching or slip frequency synchronization when the voltage is being matched. The sensory capabilities with the generator and the utility bus it is installed in is set with a two-phase capacity. There are also several basic operating modes included within this unit to allow for several different settings and adjustment methods. These modes are labeled Run, Permissive, OFF, and Check. The 8440-1432 is outfitted with several integrated components, such as the two-line, liquid crystal display for the operational diagnostic and information display. It is also able to provide alarm indication if any issues arise with the unit’s functionality. The 8440-1432 can also be configured either by the LCD interface, or remotely by a connected PC.
