These units were originally designed and developed by the oldest manufacturing company in the world, Woodward Inc. The 8440-1432 and rest of the SPM-D10/N category of products are designed as microprocessor-based synchronizer modules, built for installation into industrial, three-phase AC generator systems.
These units are able to provide generator operators with several automatic parameter matching, such as the frequency, phasing, and the voltage of the unit. The sensory capabilities with the generator and the utility bus it is installed in is set with a two-phase capacity.
There are also several basic operating modes included within this unit to allow for several different settings and adjustment methods. These modes are labeled Run, Permissive, OFF, and Check. The 8440-1432 is outfitted with several integrated components, such as the two-line, liquid crystal display for the operational diagnostic and information display. It is also able to provide alarm indication if any issues arise with the unit’s functionality. The 8440-1432 can also be configured either by the LCD interface, or remotely by a connected PC.
