The 5448-893 is a SPM-D Synchronizer module. The SPM-D series was developed with a microprocessor as the base functionality component, intended to be installed into three phase, alternating current generators that are outfitted with Woodward a speed control module, or a similar type of compatible control unit. The 5448-893 model’s specifications include an automatic voltage matching, as well as frequency and phase matching. These matching functions are achieved via the analog outputs and the bias signals they produce. The other standard specifications include an RMS voltage sensor for a reduced susceptibility to harmonic interference. 

The SPM-D line is outfitted with a front facing, LED lit synchroscope display, for easy commissioning and monitoring.The 5448-893 unit is outfitted and installed with a Human/Machine Interface software to provide operators with an easier method of entering commands and adjusting parameters. This unit also has the USB connectivity needed to attach a Woodward ToolKit service module.

The 5448-893 is rated for a frequency of 40 to 70 hertz, and is operational due to a nominal power supply of 24 volts of direct current, though the range is a minimum of 18 to a maximum of 24 V/DC.
