Product model 8237-1367 comes out of the Woodward ProTech-GII Series. It is an over-speed detection device that can be configured to safely shut down various types of turbines of any size. It works with steam, hydro, and gas turbines to protect them from over acceleration. The model also utilizes auto-testing to make sure each module is working. Model 8237-1367 also has a memory log to store information. It will store the last 20 over speed events, the last 50 sensed trips, along with the associated times of the events. The product also uses a real-time clock to make sure all stored time is accurate.

The front panel makes it easy to view each stored event, or it can be downloaded to any computer using the ProTech-GII service program. Model 8237-1367 uses triple-redundant Modbus communication ports. The product can also be manually tested using the front panel. While the model has been discontinued by Woodward, it can still be found through AX Control. It weighs approximately 22 pounds or less and can be operated in temperatures from -4 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit. It should be stored in temperatures between -4 and 158 degrees Fahrenheit.
