Product Description

Product Model 8237-1245 is a ProTech detection system from Woodward. It’s compatible with hydro, gas, and steam turbines, functioning to safely shut them down. This product uses 2 out of 3 voted architecture, and three non voted trip relay outputs. Model 8237-1245 is a panel-mount providing over-speed protection for certain types of turbines. It has a high voltage and low voltage input. This model uses Modbus communication and has speed readouts of 4-20 mA. It can be configured to run routine speed tests on turbines.

It can be used in Class 3C2 environments and is resistant to sulfur. The conformal coating of this product protects against H2S and SO2 gases. The triple modular design of model 8237-1245 makes it easy to replace one of the modules while the turbine is being used. It also utilizes module-to-module learning functions and has a backplane plug and operating structure. Model 8237-1245 uses acceleration detection, as well as MPU detection.
