Product Description

Released as part of the NetCon Controller Series, the 5501-432 is a 2CH Actuator Control Module (200mA Version) manufactured by Woodward. There are several versions available in this series, and the model part numbers indicate the maximum output current capability of the module.

Measuring 10.25 x 9.75 x 1 (inches), the 5501-432 has a power requirement rating of and a position accuracy rating of 0.25% of full-scale @ 25 °C. This position accuracy rating does not include transducer error. It has an Output Current Tolerance of ±1% of full scale and a Current Read Back Tolerance of ±5% of full scale.

Up to two position feedback devices (LVDT, RVDT) may be used on each actuator channel on the 5501-432. This module has several fault detection features, including alarms for errors related to excitation, feedback, and drivers. Position errors, logic power, microcontroller activity, and the CPU module are also monitored.

In the event the controller is not communicating with the CPU module, a solid Red Fault LED with be visible. If communications with the CPU are lost, outputs are turned off. If the LED is flashing, it is an indication of an internal problem. If internal problems occur, it is recommended that the module be replaced.
