Product Description

Model 5501-428 is a 2CH Actuator Controller Module. Woodward manufactures this model in their NetCon Controllers Series. This module is a two-channel model, with each channel controlling a proportional or integrating, pneumatic or hydromechanical actuator.

This model is the 10mA version, with power requirements listed at +5 V @ 0.5 A, +24 V @ 1 A. The model part number indicates the maximum output current capability of the module, with several versions available in this series. Model 5501-428 has a Current Output Tolerance of ±1% of full scale, and a Current Read Back Tolerance of ±5% of full scale.

Each actuator channel on the 5501-428 may have one or two position feedback devices (LVDT, RVDT). This module has several fault detection features, including alarms for errors related to feedback, excitation, and drivers.

This module is secured into a card guide in the control’s chassis, where it plugs into the motherboard. To disconnect the motherboard, the module can be pulled out using two handles, located at the bottom and top. It is important to note that the 5501-428 requires a MicroNet low-density discrete (gray) cable and analog (black) cables should not be used.
