Woodward model 8290-215 is a speed control device that is no longer in production by the manufacturer. Even though it has been discontinued, it is currently available through AX Control. This device is in the Electrically Powered Governor series, and compliant with EU directives. It can work with a 12-volt or 24-volt system battery and is only compatible with certain types of actuators. This device works with actuator models 4024, 1712, 1724, 512, and 524.

The temperature range this device should stay in is from -40 to 167 degrees Fahrenheit. It uses a 10 A slow blow fuse, with a minimum magnetic pickup input of 1.5 VRMS. Model 8290-215 also operates with a start fuel limit, and can optionally be used with a ramp generator. Actuators that work with this device will have a rotation of 30 or 35 degrees. The workload for the device is around two pounds while the device itself weighs around one pound. When installing this product 12 AWG and 14 AWG should be used, and length maximums should be followed. The rated speed is set by a 25-turn potentiometer.
