Product Description

Model 8290-187 is an isochronous speed control device. The product is designed for use with prime movers, and it is part of the Electrically Powered Governor series from Woodward. Despite no longer being made by the manufacturer, this speed control device and others in the same series can be found with AX Control. Model 8290-187 is specifically designed to operate on turbine prime movers that are powered by either natural gas or diesel.

It will consume at most 60 watts of power and operates with a minimum magnetic pickup input of 1.5 VRMS. Product 8290-187 will only work with certain actuator types, 512 or 1712, and can be installed near the actuator and battery of the turbine. When installing the speed control device, 14 AWG and 12 AWG wires should be used. It is compliant with EU directives.

The device uses a start fuel limit and switch selected dual dynamics, and can optionally be used with load-sharing accessories, as well. Adding this speed control product to an actuator and magnetic pickup creates an entire EPG system. Through AX Control, model 8290-187 can be bought, sold, and repaired.
