Product Description

A speed control device that has been manufactured by Woodward is model 8290-073. This product is a single-phase droop control device and can be added to a magnetic pickup and actuator to create a full EPG system. These systems are designed to be operated with prime movers. Model 8290-073 is only compatible with gas and diesel-powered turbines, and can be operated without any mechanical drive or hydraulic supply needed. This device can only work with specific actuator models. It can work on actuators 8256-021 and 8256-016. These actuators have clockwise and counterclockwise rotation, and double-ended output shafts.

Model 8290-073 can be operated with a 24-volt system battery voltage, and a battery charger should be kept nearby to ensure proper operation. The speed range required for this device is 1500 to 3000 Hz. The fuse rating on this product is 10 A slow-blow fuse. It consumes a maximum of 95 watts. When using this device the temperature should be kept between -40 and 167 degrees Fahrenheit. Even though the Woodward manufacturer has discontinued model 8290-073, it can still be purchased or sold through other sources.
