Product Description

Woodward model 8290-071 is a speed control device that is part of the Electrically Powered Governor series. Adding a magnetic pickup and actuator to this product will create a full EPG system for use on prime movers. This device is compatible with gas and diesel-powered turbines. The speed range is from 1500 to 3000 Hz, and the system voltage for the batter is 12 volts. This model should be installed in a protected space while being kept near the battery and actuator. 12AWG and 14 AWG wires can be used when installing this product. Model 8290-071 is compatible only with actuator models 8256-022 and 8256-017.

When operating this product the temperature should be kept between -40 and 167 degrees Fahrenheit. The steady-state-current consumption of this device is 3 amps. Product 8290-071 is EU Directive Compliant and can be used with an optional parallel generator. No hydraulic supply or mechanical drive is needed when using this speed control device. Just like the other products belonging to this Woodward series, model 8290-071 has been discontinued. However, it can be found through other sources, including AX Control.
