A single-phase droop controller from Woodward is model 8290-068. This device is part of the Electrically Powered Governor series and has been discontinued by the manufacturer. Adding this to an actuator and magnetic pickup will create a complete EPG system for use on prime movers. Model 8290-068 is compatible with gasoline and gas engines.

Information about this single-phase droop controller includes;

• A rated speed of 25-turn potentiometer.
• A system battery voltage of 12-volt.
• A required speed range of 750 to 1500 Hz.
• A temperature range of -40 to 167 degrees Fahrenheit.
• EU Directive Compliant.

This device can be mounted directly on the prime mover that it will operate with. However, it should be in a protected location and away from high heat sources, such as exhaust. Product 8290-068 can operate with actuator models 8256-017 and 8256-022. When mounting this device, it should have plenty of air ventilation to cool off properly during operation. Woodward has discontinued product 8290-068, but it is available through AX Control.
