Product 8256-080 is a Woodward actuator that is part of the Electrically Powered Governor series. When combined with speed control and magnetic pickup it will create a full EPG system. This actuator is made for use on diesel, gasoline, and gas engines and can be mounted to a panel near the engine. They are designed to handle heat up to 200 degrees Fahrenheit, and no cooler than -40 degrees Fahrenheit. Models are made with a corrosive resistance material to ensure they are long-lasting, and they are designed to be compliant with EU Directive.

Product 8256-080 comes with a start fuel limit and is powered with a 24-volt battery. The actuator is compatible for use with load-sharing accessories and equipped with switch-selected dual dynamics. For magnetic pickup to be installed on this product, it requires a rigid bracket or housing. Model 8256-080 uses counterclockwise rotation for the internal springs. This is one of the heavy actuators in the Woodward series, weighing up to 10 pounds. It can be mounted near the prime mover it will operate with, but not directly on it. These actuators have been discontinued by Woodward, but can be bought and sold through AX Control.
