Product Description

The 8406-114 is an EGCP-3 Engine Generator Control Package, Master Control (MC) model, manufactured by Woodward. This unit is rated with an input voltage of 18–32 Vdc and an operating temperature of –4 to +158 °F (storage temperature of –40 to +185°F).

This Microcontroller unit interface has two display panels and a keypad for both local setup/monitoring and remote HMI. For remote HMI/PLC connections, Modbus or Woodward ServLink tools may be used to interface the MC with remote monitoring equipment. The four-line display panels are used to configure site-specific requirements, as well as to monitor the unit operation and alerts.

The 8406-114 must be configured through the First Time Startup Menu before use. Configuration points for standard operations are available from the front panel display. Additional configuration points (along with the standard ones) may be accessed from Watch Window software through the ServLink communications serial link. The additional features available through this software are not required for basic operations.

This unit also has built-in security, protecting against unauthorized configuration changes and alarm log purges. The configuration menus have five levels of access, outlined in MC Operation Manual 26195. Access to the configuration menus is gained with a four-digit security code

(5.0)

The EGCP-3 can perform engine start/stop sequence and automatic transfer switch control. For isolated bus operation, the control will operate in isochronous and can close the generator to a dead bus. In mains or bus parallel operation, the unit can operate in BaseLoad, peak shaving, or process control modes. - AX Control Tech
