About the 8440-2191

This genset control is part of easYgen-3000 series. Part number 8440-2191 is a 3500-1/P1-K32 model. It is designed for use in rental or mobile genset control applications. Although it is nearly identical to the 3500-5 rental application model, the 8440-2191 unit has 1A CT inputs (the 3500-5 model has 5A CT inputs).

easYgen control 8440-2191 has the same reliable engine-generator control features users have come to expect from the easYgen-3000 series. Up to 32 controllers can be connected for load management, breaker control functions, and more. With the K32 rental application models, Woodward has expanded the control features for added versatility of the unit.

Model 8440-2191 is better suited for complex distribution systems than other models, thanks to Woodward LS-5 series circuit breaker control compatibility. It can support up to 16 LS-5 units. This easYgen control also has the additional feature of four switchable parameter settings blocks. Each of these four blocks contains sixteen configurable parameters. Set selection of these parameters is done via an external switch. Woodward product specification sheet 37553D and easYgen-3000 manual 37528 contain more details on this expanded feature set.

8440-2191 is one of the easYgen models with an operator interface built into the unit’s plastic housing. The control is designed for front panel mounting where the operating temperature range will remain between -20 and 70 °C (-4 and 158 °F). This built-in HMI is password protected (multi-level) and has a color LCD. There is a real-time event recorder that can record up to 300 events, with a battery backup in case of power failure.
