Controller model 8440-1934 is produced by Woodward and is from the easYgen-3000 series, this specific model is labeled as an easYgen-3500-1-P1 model. The P1 series models are made up of a sheet metal frame and do not have a display panel on the front, and therefore need to be connected remotely so it can be operated properly the P1 series model also has a relay output terminal.

While you are wiring your controller, you must know where each wire is supposed to be connected, if you are wiring the generator voltage the wiring for that would be connected to terminals twenty-nine through thirty-six, alternating the 120 Vac and 480 Vac as you connect it. You should take note that the P2 models have more terminals than the P1 models so some things are specific to the model, for example, if needing to wire relay outputs on a P2 model they would be wired through terminal one hundred twenty-one to terminal one hundred forty.
