Genset control model 8440-1817 is part of Woodward Inc's easYgen-3000 series. This model is different from the other models in the series as it does not have a display or any buttons. This model is also made with metal rather than plastic and does not contain a manual operating mode, as it has no softkeys that would even allow for manual operation. Make sure that before installing your controller you have one suited for your purposes, model 8440-1817 is strictly in a stop operating mode since functions cannot be changed. 

As your controller is not equipped with a display or any buttons that could allow you to start and stop your controller manually it must be able to be stopped remotely, as well as potential alarms that must occur remotely as well. Typically the event history on your controller could be deleted manually but since it does not have any manual capabilities you must use your controller in a way that all operations and functions can be performed remotely such as resetting the event history on your controller. Note that when it comes to the event history on your controller it can hold up to three hundred events and uses a real-time clock to ensure events are labeled correctly. 

Take note that the 8440-1817 model has an alternate name under the easYgen-3000 series and is also labeled as an easYgen-3100-5 model. Your controller will also be able to run as a true RMS current sensing device.
