This unit is a part of the Woodward series of products, from their line of digital synchronizer and load control devices, the DSLC modules. These modules were developed and produced to control and operate several types of three-phase, alternating current generators. 

The DSLC line has several advantages over other similar devices. The compact, all-in-one design reduces the amount of wiring connecting the synchronizer, load control, and automatic loading controls. The amount of functionality available within these units reduces the amount of space taken up by redundant individual modules.

The 9905-708 DSLC unit is installed with a standard Hand-Held Programmer. This reduces the calibration and installation time by allowing the user to set up the generator control prior to the system starting up. It allows operators to monitor and troubleshoot the generator’s contact switches, and input/outputs.

The 9905-708 comes with the standard operating modes. The isolated bus mode talks over the local operating network and shares proportional real and reactive loads. The utility parallel mode measures real loads on the generator and adjusts the speed control to match a set baseload.

The standard operational specifications include a temperature range that goes from -40 to 70 degrees C (-40 to 158 F). The storage temperature has a wider range, going from -55 to 105 C (-67 - 221 F).
