Part 8301-1146 is the Woodward Nile River Vessel Generator Control. Woodward Governor released this control in their 723PLUS Digital Control series. The 8301-1146 control system is made to Dredging International specifications. Control functions of the Woodward 8301-1146 control system include speed sensing, speed control, speed reference, alarms, fuel limiters, and droop/KW control. Speed-sensing is done by up to two MPUs or proximity probes.
A speed sensor failure is latched when the speed signal detects rpm below 10 or above 2000. During shutdown and start-up, fault detection is overridden to prevent a false failure. Each 8301-1146 speed sensor can be individually set as minor or major alarm in case of failure.
An overspeed failure will always give a major alarm, but other major and minor alarms are configurable based on the needs of the applications. I/O signals that can be set to no alarm, minor alarm, or major alarm are speed sensor #1, speed sensor #2, load sensor input, remote speed reference inputs, and remote load reference input.
