The Digital Controller 8280-465 can be programmed to suit applications for torsional filtering requiring two MPUs or proximity switches. The controller can be used in load-sharing systems as it contains proper circuitry and connections. The unit also includes four analog inputs, three analog outputs, eight discrete inputs, and three discrete outputs.

Product Description

Part 8280-417 is one of two DSLC/MSLC Gateway Controls in the Woodward 723PLUS series. This unit has a high voltage power supply, with a 90–150 Vdc (125 Vdc nominal) input voltage. A low-voltage version of this control is also available (model 8280-416).

Designed for load sharing control and generator system load management, the 8280-417 DSLC/MSLC Gateway Control can connect with up to fourteen DSLC units and one MSLC unit to extract generator information via a LON network. The 8280-417 can interface to a human/machine interface (HMI), or other Modbus master device, through two serial channels. A third port allows network-connected MSLC and DSLC units to receive commands and values, including forced commands and values if necessary for testing purposes.

When the 8280-417 control is put into service per the instructions in Woodward 723PLUS Digital DSLC/MSLC Gateway Installation and Operation Product Manual 02831, it complies with EN50081-2 and EN50082-2 requirements. This control is also CSA certified for Class I, Division 2, Groups A, B, C, & D. Additional compliance and listing information can be found in 723PLUS manual 03203.

The 8280-417 control’s Installation and Operation Manual also contains details on the Woodward 723PLUS accessories. This includes a handheld programmer for adjusting the control parameters, Servlink/ Watch Window PC interface for monitoring and editing control variables in real-time and an MSLC and DSLC system for generator system management.
