Product Description

A 723PLUS Digital Industrial Speed Control by Woodward Governor, the 8280-410 is a low voltage (18–40 Vdc) device designed for use in variable speed applications with reciprocating engines. Woodward part 8280-410 offers flexibility in the way of two-speed inputs that can be used for either magnetic pickups (MPUs) or proximity switches, making this 723PLUS model a suitable choice for monitoring flexible coupling torsional.

Other inputs on the 8280-410 include one for output fuel limiting, one for remote speed setting, and two spare inputs (analog). Local control of speed is managed by an internal speed reference. Woodward LINKnet input/output nodes are supported by one of the unit’s LON channels.

The 723PLUS 8280-410 has many configurable set points, as well as several control interface options via the three serial ports on this device. One of the ports can be used to connect a handheld programmer (Woodward part 9907-205) or a Watch Window PC interface, the second port can only be used for Watch Window, and the third port provides the option of interfacing to a Modbus master device, such as an HMI. Any of these options may be used to monitor and program the 8280-410.
