This unit is the low voltage model Woodward 723PLUS DSLCTM/MSLC Gateway Control. Like other 723PLUS controls, this unit has a 40 W power requirement. With the 8237-1277 low voltage model, an input voltage range of 18 to 40 Vdc is acceptable, and a 7 A nominal current in-rush is possible.
The communication ports on this unit allow interfacing to a Modbus master device as well as multiple network-connected DSLC and MSLC units. 723PLUS model 8237-1277 is capable of extracting generator information from up to 14 DSLC units and one MSLC. Parameters are monitored via two serial ports after this information is given a Modbus address.
There are a few 723PLUS Digital Speed Control accessories compatible for use with part 8237-1277
- Hand Held Programmer (part 9907-205 or 9905-292) – this programmer plugs into one of the unit’s serial ports and is used to adjust the configurable setpoints/parameters of the 8237-1277 control, including software options.
- Servlink/Watch Window – a PC interface tool that serves a variety of functions, including loading applications, real-time monitoring and editing of control variables, and saving/restoring tunable variables.
- A DSLC (Digital Synchronizer and Load Control) and MSLC (Master Synchronizer and Load Control) system - generator system load management and load sharing control.
