About the 9905-147
The Load Sharing and Speed control 9905-147 from Woodward’s 2301A series is available at AX Control INC. We buy, sell, repair, and refurbish the control. This control is a reverse-acting model, the actuator current on this model reads at 0-200 mA and requires a 88-131 Vac or 90-150 Vdc power supply. When operating the control terminal blocks needed to wire it to the system being used is located at the lower front panel of the control. The control is made up of sheet metal and is made up of twenty-nine terminals to connect the control to the prime mover. The actuator typically used with controls that are reverse-acting is equipped with a mechanical governing mechanism, the speed setting on the governor is a little higher than the speed setting that is used on the 9905-147 control unit. During operation, if there is a minor instability in the prime mover:
- begin to adjust the actuator compensation potentiometer in the slightest
- continue to adjust the potentiometer until stability of the prime mover has been achieved
- the opposite can be said if the actuator is exceptionally active
- assess the instability before beginning to decrease the potentiometer
It is important to note that under no circumstances should the actuator level be at the minimum when the steam rack is in the minimum position. If the actuator gets to the minimum position before shutting off the steam rack the control cannot shut down the turbine and will cause damage to the equipment.
