Woodward's 9905-038 is a part of the 2301A series of load sharing and speed controls. This model is forward-acting, uses a single actuator, and has a deceleration ramp. This unit is meant to be used in multi-unit load sharing systems that use electric generators. This control can be used with diesel/gasoline/gas engines as well as steam/gas turbines.

Control Features

The 9905-038 has many useful features to help increase efficiency and longevity of the system. For example, this unit comes with automatic and adjustable start fuel limiting. This helps prevent excessive stress on the engine and pollution during the startup procedure. This model also has a load sensor and can work with several Woodward actuators, synchronizers, and controls.

The 9905-038 requires a high voltage power supply with a rating between 90 and 150VDC or 85 and 132VAC. This unit has a CSA certification for use in ordinary locations in the USA or Canada. This unit is housed in a sheet metal chassis which is finished with a gloss powder. While this is an industrial instrument with some level of environmental protection, this unit was meant to be stored in an electrical cabinet or similar type of area. This means this unit should not be placed in an environment where it will be exposed to hazards such as high levels of condensation or vibration.
