AX Control Inc. buys, sells, and repairs Woodward Inc's 8272-609 units from our brand new surplus or reconditioned second-hand inventory. The 8272-609 model is from Woodward's series of 2301A Load Sharing and Speed controls. The unique controls that come with this model are used to provide load sharing and speed control for installation with driving engine loads which are isolated through torque converters and split shaft gas turbines.
Identical 2301A speed controls, Woodward part number 8272-609 is used for control of mechanical loads for one of two; torque converter application or a split shift gas turbine. Speed ranges on this unit are set by internal switches and must be set to accommodate the desired frequency to be sensed by the particular magnetic pickup.
Pertaining to power generator applications they are typically restricted to gas turbines. Due to the wide assortment of features available with 2301A Load Sharing and Speed Controls, the normal selection for control of the N2 power turbine, this unit is the typical selection for the driving of an electrical generator. The N1 compressor side or gas turbine of the unit is controlled with 2301A speed control.
The power supply rating of this unit ranges from 90-150 Vdc to 85-132 Vac for high voltage models and 20-40 Vdc for low voltage models. The power consumption of the unit is >15 W nominal. The 2301A electronic controls have switch-selectable speed ranges. Any of these control models can be set to operate within any of the following speed ranges: 500 to 1500 Hz, 1000 to 3000 Hz, 2000 to 6000 Hz, 4000 to 12000 Hz.
