Product Description

Data Acquisition Module GMTC8000 was manufactured by Red Lion as part of the Graphite HMI Expansion Modules series. This specific module has eight thermocouple inputs. This model does not have any control or analog outputs but has a specific input type. The input type of this controller is T, E, K, J, R, N, C, B, S, and Millivolt. This module is a sixteen-bit analog input module that can be used with a majority of Graphite products. When connected it will be connected through USBs for various host devices of the Graphite series.

While many of the Graphite HMI Expansion Modules are used with Crimson 3 software, the GMTC8000 device is used with Windows-compatible Crimson software. This software allows for the configuration and commissioning of new systems plus routine re-calibration. The specific power supply needed for this device is 1.4 W. The device also has two LEDs, ALM and STS.  The STS LED indicates the condition of the module while the ALM LED will light up if an internal alarm is triggered.

As mentioned above this controller has several different input types, all of these input types have different measurement ranges and will use different wire colors. For example, with the GMTC8000 device and the R-type input, the measurement range is zero to one thousand seven hundred and sixty-eight degrees Celsius, and the wire color for the BS 1843 standard is white for the positive connection and blue for the negative connection.

All information above and more regarding the GMTC8000 controller can be found in the GM8-J Red Lion Bulletin. Specifications for this controller are on page two of the bulletin.
