There are many protective features on the MD60 drive, including the bus overvoltage trip, the bus undervoltage trip, the software current limit, the hardware current limit, the instantaneous current limit, the power dip ride-through, and the fault-free ride through. Do not attempt to operate this drive unless you are qualified electrical personnel with knowledge of the equipment.
There are a number of fault codes that may appear on the drive. Fault code F48 is a parameters defaulted fault. This is not an auto-resettable fault. This fault occurs when the drive has been commanded to write default values to EEPROM. To clear this fault, manually clear or cycle drive power. Then program the drive parameters as needed. Fault code F63 is an SW overcurrent fault. This fault is auto-resettable and is caused by an exceeded SW current trip. To correct this fault, check the SW current trip setting and the load requirements on the drive. Fault code F64 is a drive overload fault. This is a non-auto-resettable fault. This fault is caused by a drive running at 150% of its rated capacity for one minute or longer. To correct this fault, reduce the load on the drive or extend the acceleration time.

Reliance Electric produced the 6MD20002, which is an AC drive for their MD-60 series. The 6MD20002 is the catalog number for the AC drive with the model number 6MDBN-8P0101. AX Control makes an attempt to stock this product as often as possible despite the fact that it is no longer being produced by Reliance Electric. The 6MD20002 AC drive is designated as one of the MD-60’s three-phase drives. The drive’s various ratings include:
- an input rated as having a voltage range of between 200 and 240 V
- a Hertz rating of between 48 and 63 Hz
- an input’s AC voltage range between 180 and 264 V
- an input amperage of 9.5 A
- an output Hertz rating from 0 Hz all the way to 240 Hz
- an output’s AC voltage range between 0 and 230 V
- an output continuous amperage rating at 8.0 A
- a 60 sec ovid amperage rating of12.0 A
- a short circuit current rating of 100 kA
For storage purposes, be sure to keep the drive in an environment where the ambient temperature range is between -40 degrees Celsius and 85 degrees Celsius and where the relative humidity is anywhere between 0% and 95%, without condensation. In addition to that, the 6MD20002 AC drive should not be exposed to an atmosphere that contains any corrosive materials. Failure to follow these storage guidelines could result in stunted drive performance and life. Install the drive on a flat, level surface. This can be on a 35 mm DIN rail or on a panel that is at least 1.9 mm thick using an M4 screw. When mounting on a panel, the mounting torque will be between 1.56 and 1.96 nm.
