The 6KE$34DBU030 is a GE braking Unit designed for use within various Frenic and Mini drive systems.  This GE part number corresponds to Fuji part number BU22-4. 

Dynamic braking units absorb high amounts of energy as that energy is created by a stopping electric motor.  They are used in systems like trains, cranes, and elevators where motors must stop quickly. 

The 6KE$34DBU030 is designed for use in indoor locations where the ambient temperature is between -10 to 50 degrees Celsius and the relative humidity remains between 5 to 95%.  It should not be used above 1000 meters or where sudden changes in temperature can occur.  The unit is not designed for use in locations where dust, corrosive gases, oil mist, or salt are common. 

When using the 6KE$34DBU030 one must recognize there is a risk of fire and that the unit can reach temperatures of 400 Celsius.  Burns are possible. Ventilation is required to ensure the proper removal of heat. 

When installing or wiring the braking resistor to an inverter it is important to turn off the power and make sure electricity is discharged before touching any of the equipment.  Please read through all installation guidelines to ensure you are not harmed and equipment is not damaged.
