About the IS420UCSCH1B
Greater Product Series Information
The IS420UCSCH1B Quad Core Controller Module is another version of the UCSC controller that operates on 1.2 GHz AMD G-Series. This controller was designed by GE Energy to be used in the Mark VIe Series. This controller is:
- described as being a real-time hypervisor controller with a QNX Neutrino multi-task capable operating system
- used in highly-reliable high-speed industrial applications
Another type of technology used on this controller is Embedded Field Agent (EMA) technology which helps apply Predix cloud-based applications and potentially web applications over a stable connection, all of these working together allows for real-time data to be delivered to the connecting controllers.
Hardware Tips and Specifications
Compared to the other controllers in the Mark VIe Series that have all of the input-outputs coming through the backplane; the IS420UCSCH1B controller does not use the backplane and does not host any I/O applications. The software and hardware architecture used with this controller will guarantee that no individual point of application input will be lost if a controller must be shut down for repair or maintenance. The IS420UCSCH1B controller has:
- a variety of different ports used for Ethernet Interfacing
- three of the ports which are each used for different redundancy applications
- when being used in a TMR redundant applications all three ports will be used
- in dual redundant applications only the S/SL2 and R/SL1 ports will be used
- the RJ45 connector and 10Base-TX/100Vase-TX twisted pairing
- used with the ports in any redundancy application
