Product Description
The IS420UCSCH1A is a Mark VIe controller. The Mark VIe is the latest Speedtronic system created by General Electric for the management of industrial steam and gas turbine systems. Its design was the culmination of over four decades of research and development by General Electric in the control of industrial turbine systems.
The IS420UCSCH1A is a quad-core 1.2 GHz AMD G-Series processor. It has been certified for use in hazardous locations. This type of installation typically has its own installation requirements. These can be found in GE’s General Purpose Applications System Guide for Mark VIe and Mark VIeS Control Systems (Vol II,) which is GE number GEH-6721.
The IS420UCSCH1A is a stand-alone controller that uses application-specific control logic for applications within combined-cycle power plants, wind turbines, and steam or gas turbines. The controller has no required jumper settings or battery and is built as a single module. It runs and is cooled without the need of a fan. The unit is built with seven I/O ports to allow for expansion and has internal flash memory that can be easily updated. The unit mounts into a Mark VIe or VIeS panel. Communication is achieved through PROFINET, EtherCAT, HSSL (High-speed Serial Link) or on-board I/O networking. The controller uses QNX Neutrino and a real-time hypervisor technology to provide this embedded communication capability, as well as EFA technology that allows real-time data transmission over a secure connection.
