Product Description

The IS420UCSBH4A is an available controller for the GE Mark VIe system.  This is one of the last Speedtronic systems released by General Electric for the management of industrial gas and steam turbines.  The IS420UCSBH4A is one of five UCSB controllers that are available for use within the Mark VIe system.  It is a quad-core controller that offers high performance with optimal reliability.   The unit is built around a QNX Neutrino operating system running on a 1066 MHz Intel EP80579 microprocessor.   This system uses control block language with Boolean logic in relay ladder diagram format.  This format supports Boolean logic as well as 16- and 32-bit signed and unsigned integer as well as 32- and 64-bit floating-point programming. 

The IS420UCSBH4A weighs 2.4 lbs and is designed for operation within ambient temperatures between -22 to +149 degrees Fahrenheit.   GE manual GEH-6721 Vol 1 will have more information regarding the technical requirements and environmental restrictions for this equipment. 

The IS420UCSBH4A can support interoperable redundant configurations with different platform types working together in a redundant set.  This means that if one controller set happens to fail, operators are able to replace it with either the same or different supported controller types as processes are running, without the loss of plant control.   The IS420UCSBH4A is compatible with the UCSCH2A controller.   Instructions on how to replace a controller in a redundant set can be found within GE publications GEH-6700 or GEH-6703.
