Product Description
The IS420UCSBH1A is a controller for the Mark VIe system from General Electric. The MKVIe is one of the most advanced Speedtronic systems designed by GE for controlling hydro, gas, and steam turbine systems. The IS420UCSBH1A is one of five UCSB modules available.
The IS420UCSBH1A is a single module controller that uses its on-board I/O network to interface with I/O packs. Older controllers in previous Speedtronic systems achieved the same kind of interface through backplane connectors. This unit is air-cooled. It does not have an on-board fan or battery, but does come with a built-in power supply. The unit is small, with a footprint that measures 6.4 inches x 8.1 inches x 1.4 inches. Other specifications include:
- 600 MHz Intel EP80579 Microprocessor
- 256 MB DDR2 SDRAM Memory with Flash-backed SRAM
- QNX Neutrino OS that supports control block language (analog and digital)
- Twisted pair 10Base-TX/100Base-TX and RJ-45 connectors
- TCP/IP protocols used for many applications
- 2.4 lbs, excluding shipping packaging
- Ambient operating temperature of -22 to 149 degrees Fahrenheit.
The IS420UCSBH1A is designed to mount directly to panel sheet metal with the unit’s fins left unobstructed to allow for proper airflow.
The front of the IS420UCSBH1A is designed with three ethernet ports designed to connect to the R/S/T I/O networks as well as three additional ENET ports for the connection of HNMIs, other controllers, Historians, and peer-to-peer connections. The front panel also has a single USB port. The setup of the controller can be accomplished using GE’s ToolboxST application.
