About the IS420ESWBH4A
The IS420ESWBH4A is the fourth version of the ESWB IONet Switch pack from General Electric for the Mark VIe/VIeS system. This version of the ESWB pack has:
- one 100Base-LX10 single-mode fiber port with an LC-type connection
- an additional IR SFP
- single-mode transducer from GE
- an ability to pause flow control
- note that the pause packet will only be sent if flow control is required on one of the ports
IS420ESWBH4A Performance Criteria Specifications
This pack requires high performance as well as high reliability. To achieve this the IS420ESWBH4A pack will exceed up to four million hours MTBF or Mean Time Between Failures at around ninety-five degrees of ambient temperature and will operate on a fixed ground controlled environment. There are also specific performance criteria needed when operating at high reliability, these criteria are:
- inrush current
- switch latency
- switch architecture
The inrush current is used to provide a soft start, when a soft start occurs then the current will be limited to less than two hundred percent of the standard operating current.
Diagnostic and Revision Specifications
During operation, the IS420ESWBH4A pack will use LEDs to indicate multiple different functions. Activity and Link functions are the only functions on the pack besides power, the link function has three standards; standards for the link LED are solid yellow for a 10 MB link, solid green for a 100 MB link, and if the LED is not lit then a link has not been detected. For the activity LED, there are only two options, flashing yellow indicates that the activity is performing at half duplex, and when flashing green the activity is performing at full duplex.
