Hardware Tips and Specifications
On the front of the IS420ESWAH3A switch, there are:
- eight 10/100Base-TX copper RJ45 port
- typically ESWA switches have fiber ports which is the main distinguishing feature of how the switches are different from each other
- this switch is the only switch that does not have any fiber ports
The IS420ESWAH3A switch is based on the ability to buffer packets. The packets the ESWA will buffer are typically a continuous stream of multicast or broadcast packets. The switch can only buffer one incoming stream at a time and the remaining streams will have to be buffered for later transmission. One packet per port should be used with this switch.
