About the IS220YPROS1A
The IS220YPROS1A is a Backup Turbine Protection I/O Module that was manufactured by GE Energy for use in the Mark VIeS Series. The IS220YPROS1A is designed to act as an independent backup overspeed protection system, along with a backup check for generator synchronization to a utility bus. The IS220YPROS1A also provides an independent watchdog function for the primary control.
IS220YPROS1A Specifications
The IS220YPROS1A has Ethernet connections that allow for IONet communications with control modules. These Ethernet connections have LEDs that allow users to see the status of the connections when in use.
There are two normal setups for a typical protection system. These are:
- Three TMR YPRO packs mounted to separate simplex protection (SPRO) terminal boards
- Three TMR YPRO packs mounted to one TPROS#C terminal board
There is an alternative method that has three YPRO packs mounted directly on a TREA board for an aero-derivative TMR protection system.
