Product Description

The GE Battery ROM Board DS3800HRMB is designed for quick installation in the drive. The board features a modular connector on 1 end and retention levers on the other end. The board is populated with 1 40-pin connector embedded on the board. The GE Battery ROM Board DS3800HRMB is populated with 1 reset toggle switch. The board is also populated with 7 jumpers, and 1 20-pin connector. The analog/digital converter is a component embedded on the board. It converts the analog signals to a digital format. The digital format is used for signal processing throughout the drive.

The reset toggle switch on the GE Battery ROM Board DS3800HRMB can be used to resolve problems if the board appears to have intermittent processing errors or is suddenly having unexplained irregular processing issues. While the drive is still operational and receiving current, the servicer can move the toggle switch to start the reset function. Only a servicer can use the toggle switch because the current in the drive can cause a serious shock or electric burn. The servicer is trained to avoid touching other components in the drive while using the switch.

Also, the servicer understands that it is best practice to have 2 individuals  perform any work on the drive. If 1 servicer is injured the other individual can call for help, administer first aid, or assist in other ways. If necessary the assisting servicer can throw the emergency shutoff device. This will shut off all power to the drive and it is located within easy reach of the drive for use during an emergency.

DS3800HRMB1G1D

The GE Battery ROM Board DS3800HRMB1G1D is designed for quick installation in the drive. The board features a modular connector on 1 end and retention levers on the other end. The board is populated with 1 40-pin connector embedded on the board. The GE Battery ROM Board DS3800HRMB1G1D is populated with 1 reset toggle switch. The board is also populated with 7 jumpers, and 1 20-pin connector. The analog/digital converter is a component embedded on the board. It converts the analog signals to a digital format. The digital format is used for signal processing throughout the drive.

The 40-pin connector is located between the retention levers on the front edge of the board. This provides the operator with easy access to the ribbon cable. The ribbon cable originates in another board or component in the drive and it terminates with a plastic connector. The connector carries the 40 separate controls signals to the board. The connector also is equipped with retention latches. They swing over the connector and clip into place to restrain the connector. This keeps the ribbon cable from accidentally losing contact with the board. To remove the ribbon cable, first swing the retention latch over the connector. Then, perform the same action for the other retention latch.

Cabling routing requires some special consideration. The drive requires air to flow freely inside the drive and the ribbon cable must not block the airflow through the drive. Route the cable away from the center of the drive interior and instead route the cable along the side walls.

The maintenance schedule for the drive requires some maintenance activity every 6 months. The drive should be removed from all sources of electricity. Only then can the servicer safely touch the components in the drive. Inspect all bolts that secure the motor and tighten any that seem loose. Follow the specifications concerning the amount of torque to apply to the bolts. Clean away any dust, dirt, or grease on the motor or other moving parts. Tug all cables to test the connections to terminals. If any seem loose, tighten the terminals. Inspect the moving parts and remove any loose bolts, screws, or other metal objects. Look for worn insulation on cables and replace the cables, if necessary.
