Use the D0-DCM Data Communications module as a communications interface for the DL05 Micro PLC series devices and DL06 Micro PLC series devices. You can populate any slot in a DL05 or DL06 PLC with the D0-DCM Data Communication module. The D0-DCM contains one RS-232 communications port (RJ12) and one RJ232/422/485 communications port (15-pin female high-density D-shell).
The D0-DCM Data Communication module provides the following functions.
• Additional communications for operator interfaces, laptops, and desktop computers above what is available on the PLC.
• Network interface for applications that require data to be shared between PLCs, or between PLCs and other devices such as laptops, desktops, or operator interfaces.
• Network interface to connect your DL05 or DL06 system to a Modbus RTU network.
The front of the D0-DCM provides status indicators.
TX1 When green, port 1 is transmitting data.
RX1 When green, port 1 is receiving data. Red indicates a port 1 timeout, negative acknowledgment (NAK), or exception response.
TX2 When green, port 2 is transmitting data.
RX2 When green, port 1 is receiving data. Red indicates a port 1 timeout, negative acknowledgment (NAK), or exception response.
The D0-DCM communication port parameters are configured using either the DirectSOFT5 (or later version) setup dialog box or ladder logic programming for DirectSOFT32 users (no DIP switch settings). If port 1, port 2, or both ports default parameters are acceptable for your application, no setup is required. You must configure port 2, if you plan to use it as a network master.
