Configure Your B30 Bus Differential Relay

The Multilin B30 is a bus differential system that provides low impedance bus protection for busbar schemes of up to 24 feeders and 6 bus zones. The B30 provides integrated bus protection and metering for HV and EHV substations. The B30 Series can be used as centralized or distributed busbar schemes, and has a high speed protection algorithm for increased stability. 

The B30s have advanced automation capabilities, which includes FlexLogic. The B30s also have scalable hardware, which allows for different I/O configurations to meet users needs. Some of the advanced communications features that come with the B30s include three independent Ethernet ports. The B30s support a variety of protocols, including DNP 3.0, Ethernet Global Data, HTTP file transfer, and Modbus RTU. 

The B30s provide a range of protective features. Some of these features are breaker failure protection, backup protection, and external check-zone. The external check-zone can be used to prevent the running of the differential protection due to CT issues. The B30s also have advanced health diagnostics. The device can test its health during start up or while it is continuously running. The B30 Bus Differential System can provide bus protection for a variety of configurations of busbar schemes.
