New Surplus Factory Package: A completely unused product that is in the original factory package. The package may have been opened for the purpose of pictures, but the product has never been used or installed.

New Surplus AX Control Package: A completely unused product that has been removed from the original factory package. Often due to shelf wear or previous shipping, the factory package is not adequate and must be replaced with an ideal AX Control product package.

Reconditioned: All products that qualify as reconditioned have completed AX Control's thorough and detailed QA process and meet the requirements of excellent working condition and excellent cosmetic condition.

About the IS220PPRAS1B

The IS220PPRAS1B is an Emergency Turbine Protection I/O module that was manufactured by GE Energy. This pack is designed to be used in the Mark VIe Series, along with a TREA terminal board and two other PPRA protection packs. The purpose of the IS220PPRAS1B is to provide an independent backup overspeed protection system. The IS220PPRAS1B also has watchdog function for the primary control and isolated trip contact inputs. 

The IS220PPRAS1B contains a BPPC processor board, which is a more advanced board than other protection packs have. The IS220PPRAS1B supports up to six speed inputs that can be configured in two ways. These configurations are:

  • Three speed sensors on two shafts 
  • Two speed sensors on three shafts 

The six speed signals can be protected against firmware overspeed, acceleration, deceleration, and a hardware implemented overspeed protection. The system monitors the operation of the primary control and of the TREA terminal board. If an issue is detected, the IS220PPRAS1B will trip the backup trip relays on the TREA board, which activates a trip on the primary control.
