Product Description

As a a multiprocessor unit, General Electric Multilin’s 760-P5-G5-D5-HI-A1-R Feeder Distribution Management Relay utilizes both the Motorola 68332 32-bit microprocessor and the Grid Connect DSTni-LX Turbo 186 16-bit microprocessor to control and safeguard the assigned system. The former microprocessor measures logic inputs and analog signals, outputs all analog signals, and manages all output relays. Meanwhile, the latter microprocessor handles the liquid-crystal display, LEDs, and all communications. The two work in tandem to provide holistic monitoring and protection of the feeder distribution system. 

The relay’s automatic reclosing feature differentiates it from its 750 counterparts. In the event that a circuit or line experiences an overcurrent, the recloser can deenergize and protect the threatened components. The advantage of a recloser is that it can assess if the problem has resolved; if it has been, the line or circuit can be energized once again and the system can resume normal operation. The recloser feature makes the 760-P5-G5-D5-HI-A1-R especially well-suited for overhead feeders because automatic reclosing is typically necessary for these systems. 

The 760-P5-G5-D5-HI-A1-R is equipped with two phase TOC elements, each of which can be programmed by the user to specify voltage restraint, pickup current level for trip/alarm, and one of fifteen curve shapes. These curves include more standard ANSI, IEC, and IAC subtypes in addition to General Electric Multilin’s FlexCurve technology. The relay initiates a breaker trip or alarm when overcurrent magnitude and duration reach user-set parameters, shielding equipment from harm and prolonging system life.
