The IS200EXAMG1A is a component for the Mark VI series.  This series is part of the Speedtronic line from GE for the management of gas and steam turbine systems.  The Mark VI is built with a primary Control Module that provides most control and protection processes. The Mark VI control system comes in both Simplex and Triple Redundant form.  This allows for proper scaling for use on single module systems to systems with many distributed modules.

The IS200EXAMG1A functions as an Exciter Attenuator Module. This module mounts in the auxiliary cabinet.  The IS200EXAMG1A and an EGDM work in conjunction to protect the generator shaft from magnetic and thermal imbalances caused by unwanted ground paths from exciter components.  To detect this current flow, voltage flowing across a sensing resistor is picked up by the IS200EXAMG1A module and then measured by the EGDM module.

The IS200EXAMG1A has two female connectors populating the board surface.  This includes one 3-position plug and one 9-position cable connector. The cable connector is labeled ‘ground detector.’  The board has three jumpers, a single screw connection for surface wiring connections, and two stab-on connectors that are labeled Vbus-p (E1) and Vbus-n (E2.)  The board also has a single relay, two MOVs, twenty wirewound resistors, and four polyester vinyl capacitors.
