Product Description
603674-102 is an interpolator accessory board developed by Delta Tau. This board was created to interface with PMAC 2 A-PC/104 from the PMAC 2 series. A sine wave input interpolator, this unit interfaces the controlling PMAC system with analog quadrature encoders. Two inputs feed sinusoidal encoders that are converted into position data digestible by the PMAC. It is capable of creating 4,096 steps in a single sine wave cycle. The sine cycle input is capable of supporting a maximum frequency of 1.4 MHz, providing system speed of 5.73 billion steps per second. This accessory is installed either on top of the PMAC 2A-PC/104 or on the additional accessory board.
The manufacturer provides a complete list of safety and installation parameters that should be adhered to, preventing device damages. The circuitry of the board is sensitive and requires caution when handling the accessory. Only personnel who are trained to install these kinds of machinery should be permitted to handle this board. Be sure to discharge all static energy from hands before installing this board. The circuitry of 603674-102 can be corroded if it comes into contact with this electricity.
When installing this board, it should be mounted in a safe enclosure. Electrical cabinets and computers serve as safe installation sites for the PMAC system. Conditions in the operating facility affect the output of the system and should be monitored. Acceptable ambient temperatures can range as low as 0℃, or 32℉, and as high as 45℃, or 113℉. Refer to the series manual and device datasheet for a complete guide to installing and operating the 603674-102. Delta Tau, the manufacturer, was the original technical support provider for this device.
