Product Description
The Delta Tau 602705-107 is a universal central processing unit (CPU). Developed for the PMAC 2 series, this CPU board is the primary controller of the multi-axis controller. All motion control features of the PMAC 2 series are commanded by the CPU module. Unlike other CPUs developed by Delta Tau, the 602705-107 is a universal model. This allows the board to be cross compatible with all types of PMAC controllers, such as VME, Mini, Turbo, Lite, and Ultralite. No matter the controller, the installed CPU works to execute simultaneous axes of motion found within the system. A system integrated Digital Signal Processor (DSP) handles all calculations performed by the CPU, yielding an improved system performance. External I/O interfacing is possible as the device features a serial RS422 connection as well as a VME bus port.
Provided installation and storage parameters should be followed to prevent any unnecessary device degradation. 602705-107 features intricate circuitries that can be disrupted or damaged easily. Only personnel trained to install boards and other electrical components should be permitted to handle this device. Careful installation will protect the device from any user damages. Before handling the board, discharge all static electricity as this can corrode the circuits. Installation sites should be protected enclosures, such as a personal computer or an electrical cabinet. Housing the device in spaces like these will protect the system from temperatures, moisture, and debris. The PMAC series manual, as well as the CPU datasheet, provides a detailed installation and instruction guide. The manufacturer, Delta Tau, was the original technical support provider for the 602705-107.
