The DL405 Remote I/O Slave Module is a part of Automation Direct's DirectLogic 405 family. This was manufactured by Koyo and PLC Direct in a production collaboration. The purpose of the device is to allow remote I/O modules to communicate with CPU bases from a distance. The module must stay at an operating temperature between 0 and 55 degrees Celsius. In storage, the module must stay at a storage temperature of -20 to 70 degrees Celsius. The humidity of the space your device stays in must stay between 5% and 95%. The dimensions of the drive are 1.89 x 3.15 x 3.28 and is protected from noise pollution by the NEMA casing. The system comes with status LEDs that help the user diagnose problems within the module.
The DL405 Remote I/O Slave Module has two distinct protocols, RM-NET and SM-NET. The RM-NET protocol has a maximum cable length of 1.2 kilometers at a transfer rate of 19.2K or 38.4K baud. The protocol also has 7 slave stations working for it. For the SM-NET protocol, spans from 100 meters to 1.2 kilometers depending on the baud rate that spans from 19.2K to 614.4K. This protocol has 31 slave stations which assists in the work process.
